Logging calls via a serial port

At this option calls will be logged from your PABX via the SMDR port in your PABX to a serial (COM) port on your PC.

1.  Double click the Call Processor icon in the tooltray at the bottom of your screen to display the Call Processor.

2.  Click Configuration.

3.  Click the Serial Port tab.

4.  Click the COM port which is connected to your PABX to indicate to Callista that this COM port will log all traffic from your PABX.

5.   In the Baud Rate field select the rate at which data will be received by Callista from your PABX.  The baud rate you select here must match the baud rate which has been set in your PABX.

6.  In the Data Bits field select the number of the bits per byte transmitted by your PABX.

7.  In the Parity Type field select the parity setting for data received from your PABX.  The setting you select here must match the setting used by the PABX.

8.   In the Stop Bit field select the bit setting for the data received from your PABXThe setting you select here must match the setting in your PABX.

9.  In the Flow Control field select the method by which communications between the PC and the PABX will be handled.  The method you select here depends on the cabling and on the PABX but this setting is usually RTS/CTS.

10. In the PABX EOR Code field select the code which identifies to the Call Processor the end of each call transmitted from the PABX.  This code is usually CR but to check this click Communication and check the code at the end of each call.  This is the code you select in this field.

11. Click Save.
